Kaithal: The national festival of Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at Madani Madrasa on Sirta Road. The program began with the hoisting of the national flag and the salute by the Madrasa director, Maulana Mohammad Saeedur Rahman. All those present sang the national anthem and expressed their love for the nation through patriotic songs.
What were the activities during the celebrations?
During the program, a drawing competition was organized for the children, in which they captivated everyone with their patriotic drawings. Aisha Amir secured the first position, Sabira the second, and Hasim the third. The winning children were honored, and books were distributed to all the children, bringing smiles to their faces.
On this occasion, Maulana and other speakers highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution and gave a message of maintaining mutual brotherhood, unity, and the integrity of the country. Many dignitaries, including Dr. Jameel, Bilal, Kesar Ansari, Shamshad, Aslam Khan, Azharuddin, and Irfan, were present at the program. The program concluded with patriotic songs and slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" (Victory to Mother India), which filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism.
How did India celebrate Republic Day 2026?
India celebrated the 77th Republic Day on Monday. Following the parade on Kartavya Path in New Delhi, four Mi-17 1V helicopters of the 129 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals in a flag formation. Two powerful symbols of India's indigenous artillery strength – the Dhanush gun system and Amogh (Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System, ATAGS) – were displayed on Kartavya Path, showcasing the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) and technological self-reliance in defense manufacturing.
Who were the chief guests?
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently met with European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Both top leaders of the European Union attended the Republic Day celebrations on Monday as chief guests. They will hold a summit meeting with Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday.
At the summit on Tuesday, India and the European Union will make a decisive announcement on the much-awaited free trade agreement. They will also finalize a strategic defense partnership agreement and a framework for the movement of Indian professionals. Relations between India and the European Union have improved over the past few years.
