Six friends killed, one injured in car-truck collision in Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh Road Accident: A horrific road accident took place in Rajnandgaon district of Chhattisgarh on Friday morning, in which six people died. One person was seriously injured in the accident. The accident took place in a head-on collision between a car and a truck near Chirchari village in Bagnadi police station area.

The accident happened around 5:30 in the morning 

According to Superintendent of Police Mohit Garg, the accident occurred around 5:30 am. A group of seven friends had set out on an inter-state trip from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Their age was between 25 and 34 years. After visiting Ujjain, they were going to Puri in Odisha via Chhattisgarh when the accident occurred.

Five passengers died on the spot

Initial investigations have revealed that the car driver may have been tired, due to which he might have dozed off while driving. According to reports, the car broke the divider and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction at a high speed. The accident was so severe that five passengers died on the spot, while another died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Injured Admitted To Medical College

The injured driver has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital in a critical condition, where he is undergoing treatment. Police have identified the deceased. Akash Maurya (28), Govind (33) are residents of Madhya Pradesh, Aman Rathore (26) and Nitin Yadav (34) and Sangram Kesari are residents of Odisha. The sixth deceased has not been identified yet.

Detailed investigation of the case is underway 

Police said a detailed investigation is being conducted to determine whether the accident was caused by driver fatigue, high speed or some other reason. Officials have inspected the spot to find out the cause of the accident and the statement of the injured driver is being recorded.
