Rain, Storm To Hit North India: IMD Issues Alert For Delhi, UP, Bihar, Snowfall In Kashmir

New Delhi: The country's weather is experiencing significant fluctuations. While temperatures are rising in many plains, snowfall continues in hilly states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a "yellow alert" for 17 states, warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms for the next few days.

How will the weather be in Delhi?

The India Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain in the afternoon and evening in the national capital. Winds of 30 to 50 km/h and moderate rain are expected in afternoon and evening, with a dust storm. On Monday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is above normal. The maximum temperature could reach 31 degrees Celsius.

“The minimum temperature will be above normal (1.6 degrees Celsius to 3.0 degrees Celsius), and the maximum temperature will be below normal (-1.6 degrees Celsius to -3.0 degrees Celsius) at most places over Delhi,” IMD said in a press release.

Is rain predicted in Uttar Pradesh?

Regarding the weather in Uttar Pradesh, many parts of the state are likely to experience thunderstorms and rain on Monday and Tuesday. Wind speeds could reach up to 50 km/h. And rain is also expected to happen on April 3.

How is the weather in Bihar?

Bihar will experience active weather between March 30 and April 1. Strong winds with speeds of 40 km/h to 60 km/h and moderate rainfall are forecasted.

What is the situation in Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir?

The high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing both nature's wrath and beauty. Fresh snowfall has left several areas, including Sissu in Lahaul-Spiti district, pearl white. Heavy snowfall is expected on Monday. Following this, another western disturbance will become active on April 3-4, which could bring snowfall again.

Will there be new western disturbance?

According to the India Meteorological Department, a new western disturbance is forming from April 2, which could again affect northwest India. Regarding temperatures, maximum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius by March 30-31, while temperatures in eastern India may gradually increase by April 2.
