PM Modi Responds As Sonam Wangchuk Ends 26-Day Hunger Strike; CJP Continues Agitation

New Delhi: Ladakh-based social activist Sonam Wangchuk ended her 26-day fast at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Thursday night. He broke his fast in the presence of union health minister JP Nadda, union minister Jitendra Singh and senior leaders of the apex body of Leh-Ladakh. What reason did Sonam Wangchuk give for ending her fast?
Wangchuk said that several rounds of talks were held in the last few days, after which the decision to end the fast was taken. He said that the possibility of possible tension and violence across the country was also taken into consideration. He assured that he will soon release a video explaining in detail the conditions on which this decision was taken.

Was any appeal received from the MPs?
Wangchuk said that 65 MPs from different political parties had met him or written letters requesting him to end the fast. He urged all the supporters to keep the protests completely peaceful and stay away from any kind of violence.
What did Prime Minister Modi say?
After Sonam Wangchuk ended her fast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished her speedy recovery. He said that Wangchuk should follow the advice of doctors and soon recover completely and return to his normal routine.

CJP (Cockroach Janata Party) founder Abhijit Deepke welcomed Wangchuk's decision. He said that this 26-day fast was successful in drawing the attention of the entire country towards the issue and for this he praised Wangchuk's courage and sacrifice.

Will CJP's movement continue?
Although Sonam Wangchuk has ended her fast, CJP has made it clear that her movement is not over yet. The organization says that the peaceful demonstration will continue at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.

CJP on Friday reiterated its appeal for peaceful demonstrations at the district level across the country. The organization has called on its supporters to join the protest in large numbers. They say that their agitation will continue until transparency and accountability of the examination system is ensured.
