PM Modi Flags Off Vande Bharat Sleeper Train From Malda, West Bengal

PM Modi interacted with children onboard the Vande Bharat Sleeper Class train as he inaugurated India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Howrah and Guwahati from Malda.

PM Modi can be seen interacting with children onboard the Vande Bharat Sleeper Class train as he inaugurated India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Howrah and Guwahati (Kamakhya) from Malda town railway station. 

Ahead of flagging off India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train, PM Modi was seen interacting with students, loco pilots.

Speaking at the occasion, PM Modi said, ''Delighted to flag off India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train from Malda. Several Amrit Bharat train services are also being introduced to boost connectivity.''

What PM Modi said about development projects in West Bengal? 

Shedding light on the development projects in West Bengal, PM Modi said, "A short while ago, several development projects related to West Bengal were inaugurated and their foundation stones laid. New rail services have been introduced in the state, making travel and trade easier for the people. The newly developed train maintenance facilities will create fresh employment opportunities for Bengal’s youth..."

Highlighting the vision behind Vande Bharat Sleeper train, PM Modi said, "This is what the trains of a developed India should be like, and everything envisioned is clearly visible in this Vande Bharat Sleeper train. A short while ago at Malda station, I interacted with some passengers, and everyone said that traveling on this train gave them an extraordinary sense of joy. Earlier, we used to see trains in foreign countries through pictures and videos and wish that India had such trains..."

What PM Modi said about Indian railways?

Talking about Indian railways, PM Modi said, "Today, Indian Railways is not only becoming modern but also self-reliant. India’s locomotives, train coaches, and metro coaches are becoming symbols of Indian technology. Currently, we are producing more locomotives than the US and Europe. We export passenger train and metro train coaches to many countries, which boosts our economy and provides employment to our youth..."
