Port Blair: A Pawan Hans helicopter crashed into the sea near Mayabunder area of  Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There were seven passengers and crew members on board the helicopter. This accident happened just minutes after takeoff. As soon as information about the incident was received, the administration, coast guard and local rescue teams reached the spot and relief operations were started.

When and how did the accident happen?

According to preliminary information, the helicopter took off normally from Mayabunder. After some time he became unbalanced and fell into the sea. Eyewitnesses said that the helicopter suddenly appeared to tilt downwards. However, the reasons for the accident have not been officially confirmed yet.
