The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain, thunder and strong wind in many districts of the state on Monday. The danger of lightning has also been reported at some places. Meteorologists are saying that pre-monsoon is now gaining momentum and its effect will be visible throughout North India.
Which cities of North India will be affected?
IMD says that there will be thunder in the sky in large parts of North India on June 1. Light to heavy rain may occur in many districts. A storm will also come along with it. The alert clearly states that the weather will suddenly change in many districts of Delhi-NCR, UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Items kept in the open may blow away. There will be danger from weak trees and electric wires. Farmers and those working outside will have to take special precautions.
In which districts of UP will it rain?
According to the meteorological department, the impact will be more visible in Eastern and Central UP. Clouds will camp in the sky in Lucknow, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Ballia and surrounding areas. There may be light rain at some places and moderate rain at other places. There are full chances of heavy showers along with thunder at many places.
Will the storm also cause trouble?
Along with the rain, the wind will also show its attitude. The department says that wind gusts can blow at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour. Laborers and farmers working in the open will have to be careful. Weak trees and tin-topped sheds can also blow over in the wind.

Until last week, many cities of UP were burning like a furnace. The temperature was above normal. But clouds started hovering from Sunday evening. Now if it rains, the temperature will drop. Some life will be saved from both humidity and heat.
