Patna: Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the 10th time. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oath. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and several Union ministers were present on the stage. It should be noted that the NDA has received a landslide mandate of 202 seats in Bihar.

Which BJP leaders became ministers?

Following Nitish Kumar, BJP leader Samrat Chaudhary was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. Vijay Kumar Sinha was also sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister. Mangal Pandey, Dr. Dilip Jaiswal, MLC, Nitin Naveen, Ramkripal Yadav, Sanjay Singh 'Tiger', Arun Shankar Prasad, Surendra Mehta, Narayan Prasad, Rama Nishad, Lakhendra Kumar Roshan, Shreyasi Singh, and Dr. Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi, MLC, were also sworn in as ministers.

These leaders of JDU, LJP, HAM and RLM became ministers

Madan were sworn in from the JDU. The LJP (Ram Vilas Paswan) party received two ministerial positions. Sanjay Kumar (Paswan) and Sanjay Singh were sworn in from the LJP. HAM and RLM also received one ministerial position each. Santosh Kumar Suman was sworn in from HAM. RLM nominated Deepak Prakash as a minister.

BJP Picks Deputy CM Nominees

It should be noted that at the BJP meeting held in Patna on Wednesday, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were elected as Deputy Chief Ministerial candidates. Both leaders had served as Deputy Chief Ministers in the previous government. Following this, Nitish Kumar was elected as the NDA leader. Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya were present as observers for the BJP. 

Assembly results

It is noteworthy that the NDA has won a landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. Out of the 243-member assembly, the NDA has won 202 seats, including the BJP (89), the JDU (85), the LJP (R) (19), the HAM (5), and the RLM (4). Among the Grand Alliance parties, the RJD has won 25 seats, the Congress (6), the CPI(M) (1), and the CPI(ML) (2).
