NEET Scam: 'Dummy Gang' busted in Jaipur, AI-generated fake faces used to cheat in exams
A big scam has emerged in the NEET-UG 2025 exam in Jaipur, which is the capital of Rajasthan. The Karni Vihar police station has cracked a gang of dummy candidates and arrested six individuals. They include the gang's mastermind, two medical students and two genuine candidates.

Suspicious movement was detected
DCP (West) Amit Kumar stated that some suspicious movement was detected at a flat located in Jagdamba Nagar region of Karni Vihar on Sunday during the NEET examination. Kumar Barala (26), Sohan Lal Chaudhary (26) and Jitendra Sharma (24) were arrested on the spot. While they were being questioned, it was found that the accused had devised a plan to get dummy candidates to appear in the exam place of actual candidates.
Accused created photographs of dummy candidates
Out of the accused arrested, Ajit and Sohan are PG students at the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), whereas Jitendra is an MBBS first-year student at Copper Institute of Medical Sciences, Karnataka. The gang had availed the assistance of AI tools to perpetrate fraud in a high-tech way. The accused created photographs of dummy candidates that were similar to the photographs of the original candidates and used them while filling the forms.
Two actual candidates were also arrested subsequently
The police informed that Jitendra Sharma was to take the exam as a dummy candidate in place of Rohit Gora and Sanjay Chaudhary. These two genuine candidates were also arrested later.The work for which the accused had received Rs 50,000 in advance and after clearing the exam, a deal of lakhs of rupees was agreed upon. The police are now looking into other members of the gang and their associates, taking the issue very seriously. It is also being found out if this gang has any history of such incidents in the past. There is also a possibility of further shocking disclosures in the police inquiry.
