Prime Minister Modi gave a big gift to Bengaluru, flagging off three new Vande Bharat trains
On August 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bengaluru’s Yellow Line of Namma Metro and flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains, marking a significant boost to the city’s transportation network.

National News: PM Modi flagged off three Vande Bharat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 10, added a new chapter in the field of transportation in Bengaluru. The PM flagged off three new Vande Bharat Express trains and the much-awaited Yellow Line of Namma Metro. The event took place at KSR Railway Station and RV Road (Ragigudda) Metro Station in Bengaluru. This initiative will not only strengthen Bengaluru's connectivity but will also reduce traffic pressure in the congested areas of the city.
PM Flags Off Vande Bharat
The Prime Minister personally flagged off the Bengaluru-Belagavi Vande Bharat Express, while the Vande Bharat trains running on the Amritsar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra and Nagpur (Ajni)-Pune routes were inaugurated virtually. These trains are equipped with modern facilities and will provide a fast, safe, and comfortable travel experience to passengers. The Prime Minister also interacted with children on the occasion, adding an intimate touch to the event.

Namma Metro Yellow Line Boost
The inauguration of the Yellow Line of Namma Metro is a historic step for Bengaluru. The line is part of the Metro Phase-2 project, which is over 19 km long and includes 16 stations. Stretching from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Electronic City, the line will connect the IT hubs of the city, providing relief to daily commuters from congestion. After the inauguration, the prime minister himself took a metro ride on this line, further increasing the importance of the project.
Foundation stone laid for Metro Phase-3
Along with the launch of the Yellow Line, the prime minister also laid the foundation stone for the third phase of the Bangalore Metro. The project has been designed keeping in mind the growing population and traffic needs of the city. Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were also present on the occasion, and they made this historic moment more special by being a part of it.
