Odisha police dig deeper into youtuber Jyoti Rani's Puri connection amidst spying allegations

In a dramatic twist, Haryana Police arrested popular YouTuber Jyoti Rani on charges of spying for Pakistan. Rani, the owner of "Travel with Jo" channel that has 3,77,000 plus subscribers, was detained from New Aggarwal Extension locality in Hisar district. She was charged under sections 3 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act and section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for conduct prejudicial to the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of India.
The Puri connection
As things develop, Odisha Police from Puri have opened an inquiry to ascertain if there's any connection between Rani and a local YouTuber. The Puri YouTuber had allegedly met Rani when she was in the city last September and had also gone to Kartarpur in Pakistan recently. Police are examining their interaction, including photographs and videos taken close to the 12th-century Jagannath Temple.
Investigation underway
Puri SP Vinit Agrawal assured that the police are cooperating closely with central and state agencies, and Haryana Police, to collect more information. A police team questioned the Puri-based YouTuber at her home, questioning Rani's visit and any possible suspicious movements. Although no case has been filed yet, the police are keeping an eye and ready to proceed if any suspicion comes up.

Rani's online presence raised eyebrows, with many wondering how a travel vlogger would be doing the work of espionage. Her Instagram account has in excess of 1,32,000 followers, but her alleged activities have left many people aghast and questioning the range of her operations.
