New Delhi: Saturday was a day of high drama at Jantar Mantar. While the police detained Sonam Wangchuk from the protest site in the morning, Abhijit Dipke began a hunger strike. Amidst this commotion, a woman threw ink at Deepke, the chief of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), causing chaos. However, Dipke took it in stride and found a silver lining in the incident; declaring blue—the color of the ink—to be his favorite, he raised the slogan "Jai Bhim."

How did the incident unfold?

Abhijit Dipke was addressing protesters at Jantar Mantar when a woman approached and threw ink at him, making three quick throwing motions. The ink splattered across his face and hands. Activists nearby immediately restrained the woman. Although Dipke tried to prevent her from being beaten, enraged supporters began mistreating her; a shoe was thrown at her, and some individuals were seen scuffling with her.
At the time of writing, the woman's identity and her motive remained unknown. Police personnel present at the scene reportedly took her into custody, and she is currently being questioned. The ink-throwing incident caused significant chaos for a while. Following the incident, the CJP founder returned to the stage, where he has commenced a hunger strike after Sonam Wangchuk was taken to the hospital earlier in the day.

How did Abhijit Dipke react?

Sharing a video of the incident on social media, Abhijit Dipke made an interesting comment. Instead of expressing anger or outrage, he found something to appreciate in the event, noting that he loves the color blue. Dipke wrote, "Blue is my color; Jai Bhim."

What is happening at Jantar Mantar?

The 'Cockroach Janta Party' (CJP) has been protesting at Jantar Mantar for nearly a month against the NEET exam paper leak. Sonam Wangchuk had been on a hunger strike at the same protest venue for 21 days. The police detained Dipke at around 7:30 AM. Subsequently, Dipke announced at the protest site that he was embarking on an indefinite hunger strike. This development comes at a time when the CJP has announced a march to Parliament on July 20. Wangchuk was also set to march to Parliament, but with him currently in the hospital, it remains unclear whether he will be able to participate.
