Badaun Police Set Up Assistance Centers, Repairs Roads for Kanwar Yatra
With the onset of Sawan and the Kanwar Yatra looming, Badaun’s police administration has intensified security arrangements, bringing in 145 policemen, including 35 inspectors, from other districts of the Bareilly division

The police administration in Badaun is in full swing preparing for the month of Sawan and the Kanwar Yatra, set to begin on July 11. This annual pilgrimage draws thousands of Kanwariyas, prompting heightened vigilance to ensure their safety and maintain order. Recognizing the scale of the event, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) has taken proactive steps, initiating a comprehensive security plan to accommodate the influx of devotees across the region.
Request for Additional Manpower
In a strategic move, the SSP recently penned a letter to the Inspector General (IG) of the Bareilly division, outlining the need for a reinforced police force. The request highlighted the demand for over 200 constables to bolster local resources, ensuring adequate coverage along pilgrimage routes and key sites. Additionally, the SSP sought the deployment of inspectors and sub-inspectors to oversee operations and coordinate efforts effectively. This call for support underscores the administration’s commitment to managing the anticipated crowd with precision and care.
Strengthening Security Measures
The requested reinforcements aim to enhance patrolling, traffic management, and emergency response during the yatra. The police are planning to establish checkpoints and assistance centers to assist devotees, while local stations are being equipped to handle any unforeseen incidents. The SSP’s initiative reflects a collaborative approach, drawing personnel from neighboring districts to create a robust security network. This preparation is crucial, given the historical challenges posed by large gatherings, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all participants.
A Focus on Devotee Safety
With the Kanwar Yatra approaching, these preparations highlight the administration’s dedication to protecting the spiritual journey of Kanwariyas. As the requested forces are expected to arrive soon, Badaun is poised to host the event with enhanced security, fostering a sense of trust among pilgrims. This proactive stance sets the stage for a well-managed Sawan season, balancing tradition with public safety.
