  Amid rising border tensions, Thailand and Cambodia leaders will meet in Malaysia tomorrow. The talks aim to negotiate a ceasefire after repeated clashes near the disputed Preah Vihear temple region, raising global attention.

International News:  At least 32 people have died so far and at least 2 lakh people have been displaced in the war going on between Cambodia and Thailand for the last 4 days. However, US President Trump had announced a ceasefire last Saturday night. He had announced that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia would soon meet for a mutual ceasefire. However, firing continued between the two countries on Sunday as well.

Meanwhile, there are reports that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia will hold talks in Malaysia on Monday (July 28) to end hostilities. Thailand's Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia will meet in Malaysia on Monday amid the ongoing war.

The leaders of both countries will hold talks

Prime Minister's Office spokesman Jirayu Huangsap said caretaker Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai would attend the talks at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to discuss peace efforts in the region. Jirayu said Phumtham's Cambodian counterpart Hun Manet would also attend the talks.

Cambodia also agreed on ceasefire

Cambodia has agreed to a ceasefire with Thailand. A post has been shared on social media by the Prime Minister's Office of Cambodia. In which positive news was announced for the armies and people of Cambodia and Thailand. The post informed that the Thai side has agreed to the US President's request for a ceasefire.

Clashes broke out in border areas between Cambodia and Thailand last Thursday, with both sides accusing each other of violating international law. Both are blaming each other for the fighting. According to Thai and Cambodian officials, at least 32 people have died so far in this war and at least 2 lakh people have been displaced.

US President Trump had talked

Here on Saturday, US President Donald Trump said that he has spoken to the leaders of Cambodia and Thailand about the increasing tension between the two neighboring countries. Sharing a post on social media, Trump said that he has spoken to Cambodia's Prime Minister Hun Manet about stopping the war with Thailand. He also spoke to Thailand's acting Prime Minister Phumtham Vechayachai and requested to end the war. He also said that 'like Cambodia, Thailand also wants immediate ceasefire and peace.

Firing continued on Sunday as well

However, according to CNN, firing continued on the Thailand-Cambodia border even in the early hours of Sunday. It is being said that at 6:40 am local time, Cambodian artillery shells fell on a civilian's house in Surin province. The sounds of heavy weapons could be heard sporadically until 7:00 am local time.
