These new attacks come after the death of a third US soldier and Iran's attacks on Washington allies Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain (where the US Navy's 5th Fleet is stationed).

Oil prices have risen in recent weeks as tensions escalate, with the conflict affecting the entire world . A new potential threat to global energy markets emerged on Monday when Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen announced plans to block Saudi Arabia's shipping routes in the Red Sea, an alternative route for oil exports.
The US Central Command said the airstrikes targeted Iran's military command center, air defense and coastal surveillance centers, maritime capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communication networks. Last week, the US attacked bridges and a tower at an Iranian port.
What did Iran say?
Iran's state news agency reported that one person was killed in the US strikes near the northwestern city of Tabriz, 520 km from Tehran. Bandar Imam Khomeini in Khuzestan province, Sirik and Jask in Hormozgan province, Konarak in Sistan and Baluchistan province, and Chabahar Port were targeted.
