Why did Neha Kakkar post?

Although Neha later deleted the Instagram stories, the exact reason behind the announcement to step down is still unclear.

Maybe the backlash the latest single track, "Candy Shop," received could be the reason.

Just weeks ago her latest single, "Candy Shop," which the singer created with her brother Tony Kakkar, was criticized and trolled for its lyrics and dance moves.

After its release on December 15, 2025, the track went viral on social media and earned over 23 million YouTube views.

Although the track later received massive criticism for the “vulgar” lyrics and “cringe” dance moves. The track, which was composed, penned, and produced by Tony Kakkar, was sung by both Neha and Tony.
