'Is Rama A God Or Human?' Ranbir Kapoor's Question To Kumar Vishwas During 'Ramayana' Prep
At the preview event for 'Ramayana', Kumar Vishwas shared an interesting anecdote about Ranbir Kapoor. He said that the actor had asked him, "Is Ram a god or a human?" After about an hour of discussion, the actor replied, "Ram is everything."
Mumbai: Ahead of the trailer release of Nitesh Tiwari's mega-budget film 'Ramayana', a special preview event was held at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam. During the event, poet and lyricist Kumar Vishwas recounted an interesting anecdote about Ranbir Kapoor, which brought smiles to everyone present.
What was Ranbir's questions?
Kumar Vishwas revealed that Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram in the film, was very serious about his role. Whenever he had a doubt, he would call and ask questions to understand the character properly.
He said, "Ranbir used to ask very good questions again and again. One day, he asked me innocently, 'Sir, can I ask you one small question?' I said, 'Ask me.' Then he asked, 'Is Ram a god or a human?'"
Kumar Vishwas said that the two discussed this question for about an hour. After the conversation ended, he asked Ranbir, "Now tell me, what do you understand? Is Ram a god or a human?" To this, Ranbir Kapoor replied with a smile, "Sir, now I understand... Ram is everything."
Kumar Vishwas said that this answer of Ranbir shows that he tried his best to understand the depth of Lord Ram's character.
How did the people react?
During the event, a light banter was seen between Kumar Vishwas and yoga guru Baba Ramdev. Vishwas jokingly remarked, "This is being said by the Maharaj Ji, who himself has a business worth two lakh crore rupees."
To this, Baba Ramdev replied with a smile, "His only aim is to become Patanjali's successor. One day I told him that if he wanted to become the successor, he would have to wake up at 4 a.m. like the yogis."
Upon hearing Baba Ramdev's words, Kumar Vishwas immediately quipped, "I'm just wondering why someone whose father is a businessman worth Rs 2 lakh crore is sleeping." The entire hall erupted in laughter at this hilarious exchange.

Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, 'Ramayana' will release in two parts, the first part arrives in theatres worldwide on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.
