Delhi’s per capita income in 2024-25 is Rs 4,93,024, rising 7.32% from last year, but Noida surpassed it, placing Delhi second, with Sikkim leading while Goa’s data awaits.

Business News: Business News: Noida is no longer just an IT and real estate hub, but is also beating the country's larger states in terms of income. Its per capita income in 2024-25 was Rs 10.2 lakh, which is more than double Delhi's income of Rs 4.93 lakh. Rapid development and investment have made Noida an economic powerhouse.

Noida, located in the Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, is not just an IT hub or a real estate center, but is now also challenging many states of the country in terms of economic development. According to the data released for the financial year 2024-25, the per capita income of Noida has reached Rs 10.2 lakh, which is double that of the country's capital Delhi.

Delhi's per capita income is around 5 lakhs

According to a recent report released by the Directorate of Economics and Statistics of the Delhi government, the national capital's per capita income is estimated to be Rs 4,93,024 in 2024-25. This is 7.32% higher than the previous year, when the figure was Rs 4,59,408. Although this income is higher than most other states in the country, it has been overtaken by fast-developing areas like Noida. Updated data is not available for Goa, so Delhi is currently at the second position. Along with this, Sikkim tops the list.

Delhi's economic situation is also strong

Delhi's economy has grown steadily over the past decade. The average annual growth rate of Delhi's per capita income between 2011-12 and 2024-25 has been 7.99%. In real terms, Delhi's per capita income in 2024-25 was Rs 2,83,093, which is much higher than Rs 1,85,001 in 2011-12. Although Delhi's Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has registered an annual growth rate of 5% during this period, its contribution to the national GDP has declined slightly to about 3.79%.

Who after Delhi?

The report said that Delhi's per capita income is 2.4 times higher than the national average. Sikkim tops the list, while Delhi is likely to remain at the second or third position even after the release of Goa's figures. Delhi, which has a much larger population and economic activity than many states in the country, still relies on a service sector-based economy like many developed countries. This is why income is high here, but its contribution to the national GDP has not remained stable in proportion to area and population.

Why is Noida's economy doing amazing?

Noida and its surrounding areas such as Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Zone have witnessed huge investments and rapid infrastructure development in the last few years. Growing activities in sectors like IT, manufacturing and real estate have made the region economically very strong. This is the reason why Noida is becoming an emerging economic hub not only of the NCR but also of the country.
