Foldable iPhone may launch as iPhone Ultra; Know About Price, Design
According to reports, this could be Apple's most expensive and most advanced iPhone yet. The iPhone Ultra could be launched in two stunning colors: Silver White and Deep Indigo.
New Delhi: Apple may soon launch its first foldable iPhone. While several reports have been circulating online for some time, new leaks claim the company may call this device the iPhone Ultra. Until now, it was known as the iPhone Fold, but according to recent reports, Apple may introduce this premium foldable phone with the 'iPhone Ultra' branding. It is believed that this phone could launch in September 2026.
What about the foldable iPhone?
According to reports, this could be Apple's most expensive and most advanced iPhone yet. The iPhone Ultra could be launched in two stunning colors: Silver White and Deep Indigo.
According to reports, Apple may launch several new iPhone models this year. These could include models like the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Ultra, iPhone Air, iPhone 18, and iPhone 18e. However, it's believed that only the Pro models and the iPhone Ultra will launch in September. The remaining models could arrive early next year. If this happens, it would be Apple's largest iPhone lineup ever.
What about the price?
According to reports, its global price could be around $2,000. If Apple launches the phone at this price, its price in India could exceed Rs 200,000. Some reports claim that its price could go as high as Rs 2.25 lakh.
The main reason for this is that this phone will be manufactured only in China, meaning it will not be locally manufactured in India, which could further increase its price.
According to leaks, Apple may use a book-style design for its foldable iPhone. Meaning, the phone will open and close like a book. Apple may use a liquid metal hinge, which will make the phone stronger and fold more smoothly.
According to reports, the iPhone Ultra could feature a larger 7.8-inch inner display, while the outer screen could measure 5.5 inches. Both screens are expected to use Samsung's M16 OLED technology. When closed, the phone could measure approximately 9.23mm thick, making it one of the thinnest foldable phones on the market.
Will face ID be available?
The most surprising thing is that this phone won't feature Apple's popular Face ID. Reports suggest the company may offer side-mounted Touch ID. This means the fingerprint sensor could be embedded in the power button.
Additionally, the iPhone Ultra is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 48MP primary camera and a 48MP ultrawide camera. The phone is expected to feature Apple's new A20 Pro chip, which will be based on 2nm process technology. The phone is expected to feature up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The iPhone Ultra could feature a larger battery, ranging from 5400mAh to 5800mAh. This could be the largest battery ever in an iPhone. Reports suggest that Apple may also remove the physical SIM tray and offer eSIM support only. For AI features, it could also feature iOS 27 and the new Siri assistant.
