New Delhi: Apple is hosting its biggest annual event - Worldwide Developers Conference 2026. The keynote starts tonight at 10:30 PM Indian Standard Time. Most announcements will be the software related. And the biggest one is iOS 27.

What to expect from iOS 27?

This update is all about AI. Leaks suggest Apple will go big on artificial intelligence this time around. Siri is getting smarter. It may soon hold more natural conversations; closer to how ChatGPT works today.
AI features will be built into Camera, Photos, Wallet and Shortcuts apps. New AI photo editing tools are coming. Smart writing assistance is also expected to be part of the update.

What are the big changes in camera app?

The Camera app is getting its biggest upgrade in years. A Siri-powered camera mode may be introduced. Professional photographers will get more customization options. You will also be able to change photo backgrounds using AI.

According to reports, iOS 27 is similar to Mac OS X Snow Leopard. That update was purely about performance improvements and bug fixes. iOS 27 may follow the same path; less flashy and more solid.

When will it roll out?

Developer beta drops right after tonight's event. Public beta is expected in July. Final version will be launching in September.

Older iPhones losing support?

It may not be good news for older iPhone users. According to a tipster, iOS 27 will only support iPhone 12 and newer models. If true, Apple will drop support for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and second generation iPhone SE.
Supported models will be:

iPhone 12 series
iPhone 13 series
iPhone 14 series
iPhone 15 series
iPhone 16 series
iPhone 17 series

Apple has not officially confirmed the supported devices list yet. Tonight's event may clear that up.
