Punjab to Host Three-Day ‘Pensioner Seva Mela’ for Retirees Across the State

Punjab’s Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has announced a three-day ‘Pensioner Seva Mela’ across all district treasuries from November 13–15, offering e-KYC and registration help for pensioners on the new digital portal.

The state government wants to make pension-related work simple and fully digital. Many retired employees find it hard to complete online formalities, so this special mela will help them finish their e-KYC and register on the “Pensioner Seva Portal.” Once registered, pensioners can access services like life certificate submission, updating personal details, and grievance filing without visiting government offices again.

How Will the New Portal Work?

Punjab’s digital pension portal, launched on November 3, 2025, is designed to bring every pension service under one roof. The website pensionersewa.punjab.gov.in offers six key facilities — from submitting life certificates to applying for family pensions, leave travel concessions, or raising complaints. This single platform will save time, reduce paperwork, and make pension tracking easy from home.

How Can Pensioners Complete e-KYC?

To access these online services, pensioners must complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC. During the mela, officials at district treasuries will help them complete the process easily. After that, they can log in through their mobile phones or computers anytime. Pensioners who are not comfortable with technology can visit local service centers or their pension-disbursing banks to get assistance.

What Mobile Apps Are Linked to It?

The ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ app, available on Android and iOS, has been linked with the pension portal. With this app, pensioners can submit their life certificate online instead of standing in long queues. This feature ensures that even elderly citizens living away from treasury offices can confirm their life proof digitally from home with just a few clicks.

What About Help and Complaints?

The Finance Department has also created a special “War Room” at the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts to handle complaints. Pensioners can call on helpline numbers 18001802148, 01722996385, and 01722996386 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on working days. Officials will guide them through technical issues, registration errors, or payment-related queries. This setup ensures every problem gets a quick response.

What Is the Broader Goal of the Initiative?

Minister Cheema said the aim is to make government services senior-friendly and paperless. Through the ‘Pensioner Seva Mela,’ Punjab wants to ensure that no pensioner faces delay or confusion in receiving their benefits. With e-KYC, digital certificates, and online support, retired employees will now enjoy faster, transparent, and stress-free services — all from the comfort of their homes.
