Top Kabaddi Players and Sports Personalities Join AAP, Back Bhagwant Mann Government
In a significant political development, several celebrated kabaddi players, sports personalities, and youth leaders have joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The move is being seen as a strong endorsement of the Bhagwant Mann-led government’s governance and welfare initiatives, further strengthening the party’s connection with Punjab’s youth and sports community.
The Aam Aadmi Party received a fresh boost on Tuesday as a group of prominent sports personalities formally joined the party in Chandigarh. Leading the group was internationally renowned kabaddi star Kinda Biharipuria, popularly known as “Cheetah,” whose arrival attracted significant attention within Punjab’s sporting circles.
Rajbir Singh Ghuman Welcomes New Members
The newly inducted members were welcomed by Rajbir Singh Ghuman, OSD to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Speaking on the occasion, Ghuman said that the growing support from respected athletes and social leaders reflects increasing public confidence in the work being carried out by the Punjab government.
International Kabaddi Players Join the Party
Several well-known kabaddi players joined AAP alongside Kinda Biharipuria, including Jeeta Badalgarh, Babbu Jhaneri and Saima Ghrachon.
Kabaddi players Malkit Singh and Barinder Singh also became part of the party, adding further strength to AAP’s outreach among Punjab’s sports community.
Referee, Commentator and Youth Leaders Also Inducted
The joining ceremony also witnessed the induction of respected referee Satgur Jhaneri and international kabaddi commentator Kulbir Timberwal.
Youth leaders Amrinder Singh Rorian and Satnam Singh Virk, along with Manjot Singh and Hardeep Singh, also joined the party during the event.
Government’s Work Wins Appreciation
Rajbir Singh Ghuman said the Bhagwant Mann government has consistently focused on people-centric governance and welfare measures for every section of society.
He highlighted the government’s efforts in supporting youth, improving public services, and creating opportunities for sportspersons across Punjab.

The newly joined members said they were inspired by the transparent administration and development-oriented approach of the AAP government.
