UP Cabinet Meet to Greenlight Parking, Medical Education Proposals
UP Cabinet, led by CM Yogi Adityanath, will deliberate on critical proposals to enhance parking infrastructure and expand medical education, following the approval of 13 diverse initiatives in its April 8 session.

In a bid to expand healthcare access and improve medical education, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has approved the establishment of three new medical colleges in Hathras, Kasganj, and Baghpat. These colleges will operate under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Rajshree Educational Trust will manage the colleges in Hathras and Kasganj, while the Baghpat institution will be run by Jaipal Singh Sharma Trust. The initiative aims to bridge the gap in quality medical services in remote districts.
Balrampur Hospital to Become Autonomous Medical College
A significant upgrade is also planned for Balrampur’s 166-bed Government Combined Hospital, which will now be converted into an Autonomous State Medical College. To meet regulatory standards, the government will create 1,394 posts, covering both academic and administrative roles. This step is expected to elevate the region's healthcare delivery and provide more opportunities for medical training.
Statewide Push for Nursing Education
In a move to strengthen nursing education, the Cabinet has approved the transfer of 4,570 square meters of land from the Government Agricultural School in Balipura, Bulandshahr. The land will be used to build a new nursing college. This is part of a larger plan to establish nursing colleges in all 27 autonomous medical colleges across the state.
New Pediatric and Gynecology Block in Etawah
The Cabinet has also cleared the construction of a 300-bed gynecology block, including a 100-bed pediatric unit, at the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Medical Sciences in Saifai, Etawah. The approval covers both administrative and financial aspects and is expected to enhance maternal and child healthcare in the region.
Urban Development Through Metro Expansion
Beyond medical initiatives, the Cabinet addressed urban mobility by approving land transfers for the Agra Metro Rail Project’s two corridors. The move aims to expand public transportation options and ease traffic congestion in the city.
