Thousands gathered, braving the monsoon drizzle, to hear the PM’s vision for a thriving Bihar. This visit, his fifth to the state in 2025, underscores the Centre’s focus on uplifting Bihar ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, with Siwan as a key stage for showcasing progress.

Transformative Infrastructure Projects

The highlight of Modi’s visit was the inauguration of the Patliputra-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express, enhancing high-speed rail connectivity in north Bihar. 

Clean Water and Sanitation Boost

Under the Namami Gange mission, Modi inaugurated six sewage treatment plants worth ₹1,800 crore, aimed at reducing pollution in the Ganga. These efforts reflect the government’s commitment to improving public health and environmental sustainability in Bihar’s urban and rural areas.

Housing and Economic Empowerment

The PM released the first installment of funds for over 53,600 beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), enabling families to build homes. A symbolic ‘Grih Pravesh’ ceremony for 6,600 completed houses added a festive touch. Modi also flagged off an export locomotive from Marhowra, showcasing Bihar’s role in the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
