Speaking amid heightened tensions following Operation Sindoor, which neutralized terror camps in Pakistan, Singh declared, “We are not afraid of threats of nuclear weapons.” His remarks came a day before security forces eliminated three Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in Tral, Awantipora, reinforcing India’s proactive approach to counter-terrorism. The minister’s address aimed to boost morale in the region while sending a clear message to hostile neighbors.
Deeds, Not Religion, Drive Action
Singh emphasized that India’s counter-terrorism operations are guided by actions, not religious affiliations. “We kill based on our deeds, not on religion,” he stated, addressing misconceptions about India’s security policies. This stance aligns with recent operations, including the Tral encounter on May 15, 2025, where security forces targeted terrorists linked to the April 2025 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. By focusing on eliminating threats based on evidence of militancy, India aims to maintain a principled approach, countering propaganda from adversaries like Pakistan, who have escalated rhetoric post-Operation Sindoor.

The minister highlighted India’s advancements in defense technology, such as the Bhargavastra anti-drone system, which exposed vulnerabilities in Pakistan’s Chinese-supplied defenses during Operation Sindoor. Singh underscored the government’s commitment to equipping the armed forces with cutting-edge tools to tackle modern threats like drone warfare. He also praised the synergy between the Indian Army, J&K Police, and CRPF, evident in recent successes in Shopian and Tral, which have disrupted terror networks in South Kashmir.
