Rahul Gandhi attacks the central government over Trump's new visa fee, calling him the weakest PM of the country
Following US President Trump's increase in H-1B visa fees, Congress has criticized Prime Minister Modi. Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav have criticized the government's foreign policy as weak.

National News: Congress has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi after US President Donald Trump imposed a $100,000 fee on H-1B visa applications. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi attacked PM Modi on the social media platform Twitter, saying India has a "weak PM." Rahul Gandhi reshared his 2017 post in which he made the same point, citing reports on H-1B visas and Jammu and Kashmir. He said, "I repeat, India has a weak Prime Minister." SP chief Akhilesh Yadav also attacked the central government.
Donald Trump's new executive order has imposed a fee of $100,000 on H-1B visa applications, severely impacting the IT industry, including Indians who use this route to work with big IT companies in the US. Trump alleged that companies misuse H-1B visas to import cheap labor, leaving Americans behind.
Congress targeted the central government
Meanwhile, Congress wrote on the social site X that the fees for Narendra Modi's friend, the "H-1B Sardar," have been increased. Previously, the H-1B master's fee was 6 lakh rupees, but now it has risen to 8.8 million rupees.
He stated that India would be the most affected by Asal's decision. Job opportunities for Indians in the US would decline. Remittances from the US to India would also decrease significantly. The statement added that this threat would be significant, as the country's major IT companies are already struggling.
Gaurav Gogai raised questions on political silence
On the other hand, Gaurav Gogoi of the Congress party said that the Prime Minister's "strategic silence and loud talk" have become a burden for the country. He shared a post targeting PM Modi, saying, "With the recent decision on H1-B visas, the US government has attacked the future of India's best and brightest minds. I still remember the boldness of former PM Manmohan Singh when an IFS woman diplomat was insulted in the US."
He said, “Now PM Modi's strategic silence and preference for loud optics has become a liability for the national interest of India and its citizens.”
Akhilesh Yadav attacks the Centre
Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said, "This isn't the first time America is behaving this way with India. Our foreign policy is already weak. Why do we appear weak? What are our preparations? What will we be prepared for if other countries do the same tomorrow?"
He said, "We are becoming increasingly dependent on other countries. We depend on other countries for fertilizers... We are constantly increasing trade with the country with which we are at war over our land."
