New Delhi: The meeting of foreign ministers of Quad countries, which is going to be held on Tuesday in the Indian capital New Delhi, is considered very important. In this meeting, many big issues like the West Asia crisis, security of the Indo-Pacific region and the deteriorating economic situation of the world will be discussed. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will host this important meeting.

Which issues will be discussed the most?

First of all there will be talk on the ongoing tension in West Asia. Due to Israel-Hamas conflict and Iran-America tension, crude oil is becoming expensive and international trade is being affected. Quad countries will discuss how to minimize the economic loss.

After this there will be the issue of Indo-Pacific region. There is constant concern about China's increasing activities here. Sometimes the ships of the Philippines are stopped and sometimes military pressure is increased around Taiwan. In such a situation, all four countries can make a strategy to keep the sea lanes safe and open.

What message does Quad want to give to China?

The main objective of the Quad countries is to maintain balance in the Indo-Pacific region. It is believed that through this meeting a clear message will be given to China that it is necessary to follow international laws. There can also be discussion about putting pressure on smaller countries or making aggressive claims on maritime areas.

The four countries can focus on increasing maritime surveillance, strengthening mutual cooperation and increasing technical partnership.

Why is the focus on critical minerals and technology?

Critical minerals required for phone chips, batteries and new technologies will also be discussed in the meeting. Quad countries want that the supply chain should not depend only on China. New plans can be made to increase cooperation in lithium, semiconductors, and advanced technology.

What did the government say?

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the already ongoing schemes will be reviewed in the meeting. Progress made on issues related to vaccines, satellite, climate change and regional security will be assessed. International topics like Ukraine war and Gaza crisis will also be on the agenda.

What effect can this have on common people?

Experts say that the decisions of this meeting can directly impact the lives of common people. If tension increases in West Asia, petrol and diesel may become expensive. At the same time, if the supply chain is affected, the prices of mobiles, electronics and everyday items may also increase. In such a situation, this meeting of Quad is being considered not only for diplomacy but also for deciding the direction of the global economy and the future.
