PM Modi inaugurates Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira in Mandya; appeals people to take nine pledges

After inaugurating the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandir in Adichunchanagiri Mutt, PM Modi appealed the people to take nine collective pledges, ranging from health to conservation of nature.

Bengaluru: After arriving in Karnataka on Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandir in Adichunchanagiri Mutt, in Mandya district and also offered prayers at the temple. The Adichunchanagiri Mutt is the spiritual center of the state. The temple has been newly constructed at a cost of Rs 80 crore.

What is special about the temple?

Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandira is a memorial, which is dedicated to the revered seer, Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, the 71st Pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana Math. 

Constructed in the traditional Dravidian architectural style, the Mandira stands as a tribute to the life and legacy of the late seer. The Mandira is envisioned not only as a place of reverence but also as a source of inspiration for future generations.

What did PM Modi say after the inauguration?

After inaugurating the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Mandir in Adichunchanagiri Mutt, in Mandya district, PM Modi praised the spiritual heritage and underlined the government's welfare initiatives. 

Addressing the event, PM Modi said, "Visiting and worshipping at Shri Kaal Bhairav Temple, witnessing the inauguration of Shri Guru Bhairavaiakya Temple... these experiences will always remain with me. I consider it my good fortune that I got the opportunity to come among all of you."

While talking about India's ancient cultural strength, PM Modi said, "India is a vibrant civilization that has been thriving for thousands of years."

While addressing, PM Modi also appealed to people to take nine collective pledges, ranging from water conservation, natural farming, to fitness and service, to realise a "developed Karnataka and a developed India".

Will PM Modi also release a book?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also jointly released a book titled "Saunsarya Lahari and Shiva Mahimna Stotram" along with former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda. 

Who received PM Modi?

PM Narendra Modi was received by Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah at Bengaluru airport earlier today. And Siddaramaiah has also wrote a memorandum to PM Modi, calling attention to atleast 18 "long-pending" projects for the state which require the Central government's "urgent attention".
