PM Modi Hails Operation Sindoor as India’s New Anti-Terror Resolve
In his latest Mann Ki Baat address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Operation Sindoor as a transformative milestone in India’s fight against terrorism, signaling a “new normal” in the nation’s security policy.

In his 122nd Mann Ki Baat address Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Operation Sindoor as a bold testament to India’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism. Launched on May 7, 2025, in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives, the operation targeted terrorist camps in Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Muzaffarabad, neutralizing over 100 terrorists and destroying nine terror hubs. Modi described the mission as a “new normal” in India’s security policy, emphasizing a zero-tolerance stance against cross-border terrorism.
Showcasing Indigenous Strength
Operation Sindoor highlighted India’s growing self-reliance in defense technology. Modi praised the use of indigenous systems like the Akash Missile System, Akashteer Air Defence, and SkyStriker loitering munitions, which ensured precision strikes and neutralized Pakistani counterattacks, including drones and missiles. “Our soldiers’ courage, paired with Made-in-India technology, reflects the sweat and resolve of a self-reliant nation,” Modi said, linking the operation to the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. This technological prowess not only achieved military objectives but also boosted national pride.
A Unified Nation’s Resolve
The operation sparked a wave of patriotism across India, with Modi noting Tiranga Yatras and citizens naming newborns ‘Sindoor’ in places like Katihar and Kushinagar. He highlighted a renewed push for ‘Vocal for Local,’ with families pledging to buy Indian-made products and vacation domestically, partly in response to Turkey’s support for Pakistan during the conflict. Modi’s address underscored national unity, stating, “Every Indian stands united against terrorism, filled with anger but determined to end it.”
Global Impact and Future Stance
Modi’s remarks signaled a doctrinal shift, warning that future terror attacks would be met with decisive retaliation, undeterred by nuclear blackmail. By linking the Indus Water Treaty to terrorism cessation, India asserted its strategic leverage.
