Delhi Weather Today: Heatwave Tightens Grip, IMD Issues Week-Long Orange Alert
The heat of Delhi is now becoming a problem for the people. The continuously increasing temperature in the capital has made the month of May even hotter.
New Delhi: The heat of Delhi is now becoming a problem for the people. The continuously increasing temperature in the capital has made the month of May even hotter. The situation on Tuesday was such that strong sunlight and hot winds kept people troubled since morning.
The meteorological department has considered this the first official heat wave day of this season. Due to the hot winds blowing throughout the day, there were fewer crowds in the markets and roads. People did not get relief even at night and the effect of the heat was felt for a long time. The Meteorological Department has warned that the temperature will remain high in the coming days as well.
Will the heat wave scorch people even today?
The weather pattern is going to remain the same on Wednesday also. The sky will be absolutely clear, not a trace of cloud. The sun will hit so hard that you will feel dizzy within two minutes. The weather department is saying that hot wind will blow at a speed of 15 to 25 kilometers during the day. If there will be gusts in between, it will feel as if someone has run a dryer on the face. Today's maximum temperature can go up to 45 degrees. The night will not pass peacefully. The night temperature will also be above normal. Meaning it is difficult to sleep without AC-cooler.
Is the entire NCR also burning along with Delhi?
Not only Delhi, cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad are also in the grip of extreme heat. In the afternoon, the movement of people on the roads is decreasing and in many areas the hot wind is directly felt scorching the face. The impact of the continuously increasing heat is most visible on daily wage labourers, traffic policemen and people working in the open. At many places people were seen looking for shade under trees and bus stops.
Are the winds coming from the desert increasing the temperature?
According to meteorologists, dry and hot winds coming from the Thar Desert of Rajasthan and Balochistan are currently heating North India. There is very little humidity in these areas, so the air coming from there feels even hotter. This is the reason why the effect of heat increases from the morning itself and by afternoon heat like conditions arise. Experts say that at present there is no active weather system that can provide relief to the people.
