Chief Ministers Join PM Modi at Key NITI Aayog Session on Viksit Bharat Plan

New Delhi: The 11th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog began on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting is discussing the strategy for inclusive human development and its delivery to every citizen in the form of concrete results to achieve the goal of making India a developed country by 2047.
Who attended the meeting?
Chief Ministers of various states and Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories are attending this year's meeting. The meeting is discussing the "Inclusive Human Development Framework."
According to a statement issued by NITI Aayog, the theme of this year's meeting is "Inclusive Human Development for a Developed India 2047." Its objective is to ensure the well-being and development of every Indian, regardless of age, region, gender, and socio-economic background.
What issues will be discussed?
The statement said that the Governing Council meeting will discuss measures to realise this vision and translate it into concrete and measurable results for every citizen of the country.
According to officials, the Chief Minister and Lieutenant Governor will deliberate on the "Inclusive Human Development Framework" at the meeting. This framework is based on four key pillars: basic human capital and future-ready skills; productive employment, entrepreneurship, and decentralized development; health, nutrition, and well-being; and equality and dignity for all.
The meeting will also discuss measures to promote entrepreneurship, strengthen skill development and create sustainable employment opportunities across the country.
What is the key objective?
A key objective of the discussions will be to collectively develop a roadmap for implementation, leveraging key tools such as good governance, digital public infrastructure (DPI), coordination, partnerships, and data-driven systems. Emphasis will also be placed on developing a systematic mechanism for monitoring short-term, medium-term, and long-term results to ensure accountability and measurable impact.
The meeting will focus on aligning the development vision of the States with the national vision of inclusive human development, so as to strengthen an integrated and collaborative approach for balanced and sustainable development.
The Governing Council of NITI Aayog will also consider the recommendations of the Fifth National Conference of Chief Secretaries held during December 26 and 28, 2025.
