BSF Sounds Alarm: New Infiltration Threats Emerge Post-Operation Sindoor
Following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, which targeted terrorist launchpads and foiled an infiltration attempt by dozens of terrorists, the Border Security Force (BSF) emphasized the need for heightened alertness during a press conference

National News: Operation Sindoor delivered a decisive blow to terrorist networks following the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. The Border Security Force in collaboration with Indian armed forces, targeted nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, neutralizing over 100 militants affiliated with groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba. The operation disrupted key terrorist infrastructure, including launchpads in Sialkot and Loni, and showcased India’s resolve to counter cross-border terrorism. However, the BSF now warns that the operation’s success has provoked terrorists to plan fresh infiltrations.
Renewed Threats on the Horizon
During a press conference BSF Inspector General urged heightened vigilance, stating, “We have to be alert,” as intelligence reports indicate terrorists are regrouping near the Line of Control and International Border. On May 8, the BSF thwarted a significant infiltration attempt by 45-50 armed terrorists in Jammu’s Samba sector, eliminating seven terrorists and destroying enemy posts. The operation exposed Pakistan’s complicity, with Pakistani Rangers providing cover fire. The BSF’s robust response, including advanced surveillance and drone countermeasures, underscores its preparedness to tackle emerging threats.
Pakistan’s Escalating Tactics
Post-Operation Sindoor, Pakistan intensified ceasefire violations, launching drone attacks and mortar shelling in Jammu, Poonch, and Rajouri to distract Indian forces and aid infiltrations. The BSF’s retaliatory strikes crippled several Pakistani posts, forcing Rangers to abandon key positions. Despite these losses, intelligence suggests Pakistan is deploying new strategies, including advanced drones and tunnel networks, to facilitate terrorist crossings. The BSF has bolstered its anti-drone systems and border patrols, ensuring round-the-clock monitoring to safeguard India’s frontiers.
Strengthening National Resolve
Deputy Inspector General SS Mand commended the bravery of BSF personnel, including women officers, who played a pivotal role in the operation. As terrorists attempt to regroup, the BSF calls for public support and inter-agency coordination to counter these threats. This ongoing battle emphasizes the need for unwavering vigilance and unity to protect India’s sovereignty from external aggression.
