'300 rupees from grandparents became a prison for the son's life; Ram Milan was held captive for 25 years'

Seventy-year-old Kusuma from Lucknow narrated her pain on Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas. After her husband’s death, village moneylenders snatched away her 10-year-old son, Rammilan, who has been held hostage for 25 years.

National News: In the Nigohan area of the Lucknow district, the life of a poor family got ruined due to debt. The grandfather and father had taken a loan of 300 rupees, which could not be repaid. This debt pushed the family towards ruin. After the death of husband Shivpal, Ashok and Anmol Tiwari of the village reached the house. They kidnapped Kusum's 10-year-old son, Rammilan, saying that now he will repay the money by working as a laborer.

The child has been in their custody since then. Rammilan, who was kidnapped in childhood, is now living a life of forced labor. Mother Kusuma says that her son is not even allowed to come home. The helpless mother is living alone and has been trying to free her son, but no one is listening to her.

70-year-old Kusuma submitted an application to the officials in Mohanlalganj tehsil on Monday. Crying, she said, "Please save my son; I want to see his face before I die." The entire atmosphere became gloomy after listening to her words.

Land grab game

Kusuma alleges that by showing her son Rammilan as dead, her ancestral land was usurped. Even the house was sold. Now there is a conspiracy to grab the inherited land as well, due to which her future is bleak. It is alleged that the administration was misled by the making of fake documents, and the family's share was wiped out.

The village strongmen also auctioned the land in their name and embezzled the money. Kusum says that no one is listening to her while her son's name is still registered in government records. Despite visiting every office, she has not gotten justice till now.

The officers gave orders

ADM City Mahendra Singh and SDM Pawan Patel have ordered an investigation into the entire matter. The police have also been instructed to bring out the truth behind the son being held hostage. The report has been sought in a week. The officials clearly said that if anyone is found guilty of land grabbing, strict action will be taken against him.

The tehsil administration has been instructed to scrutinize the inheritance documents and record the statements of witnesses. The police has been given the responsibility to interrogate the accused family and provide security to the victim. The officers assured that this time the case will not be suppressed.

Mother's hopes remain

The elderly mother is still hoping that her son Rammilan will return someday. She said that I worked hard all my life, but my last support was also taken away. Now the administration is my last hope; otherwise my life will remain incomplete. Crying, she said that her son was her only support and she has lived her life till now with the help of his memories.

No one in the village comes forward to help them, and many times they are even taunted. Despite this, the mother's heart is still longing for her son to return. She said that her biggest wish is to see her son's face before she dies.
