Iran's Foreign Minister Araghchi is heading to Pakistan on Monday since the possibilities of war are rising. Following his tour of Pakistan, Araghchi will travel to New Delhi where he will likely have a meeting with senior officials and leaders of the nation.

Extended cooperation in combating terrorism

Iranian President Masoud Pejschekian has already called both Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz Sharif and offered condolences for the terror attack and emphasized the need for a common front against terrorism. While speaking with Modi during his call, Pezeshakian denounced the attack and expressed cooperation in fighting terrorism while raising fears regarding escalating tensions with Sharif and highlighting Iran's interest in regional stability.

Can Iran mediate between India and Pakistan?

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi has highlighted the position of Iran as a potential mediator between Pakistan and India. He met with Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and conveyed Tehran's interest in helping to ease tensions between India and Pakistan by arranging talks. As per Iranian reports, Araghchi will be followed by an official visit to India later this week, during which he will further enhance diplomacy and discuss chances of cooperation in the region.

Heightened alarm in PoK

Reports indicate that the attack on Pahalgam was conducted by PoK-trained terrorists. Following which there are speculations that the Indian Army will attack PoK first, and thus war preparations in PoK are ongoing. Locals are also being trained in the use of weapons. Considering the increasing tension in Pakistan, the government has prohibited tourists from visiting PoK. The motive behind this decision is also thought to be the move taken by India. It is due to which Pakistan has initiated making security measures from now onward.
