Bangladesh Rally Hit By Explosion: Three Wounded Near Dhaka At NCP Rally Opposing Sheikh Hasina

Dhaka: An explosion caused chaos during a political rally on Monday night in Savar near Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka. The blast occurred when a senior leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) was addressing the people from the stage. As soon as they heard the sound of the explosion, the people present in the meeting started running here and there in panic. According to initial information, at least three people have been injured in this incident.
The video of the incident is also becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, the leader is seen giving a speech, and after a few moments, there is a massive explosion in the crowd present in front of the stage. After this, a stampede-like situation is created at the venue.
Why was the rally organised?
The National Citizen Party had organised this rally on the occasion of the second anniversary of the student movement. This was the same movement which brought a major change in the politics of Bangladesh. A large number of party supporters had come to participate in this program.

What did the party allege?
After the incident, NCP issued a statement claiming that a bomb was exploded at the rally venue. According to the party, a meeting was going on at Sawar police station stand, Idgah ground at around 9:45 pm on Monday, when the blast took place.
However, the administration has not yet confirmed this claim. Police say that what caused the explosion is being investigated. At present, official information about the arrest of any suspect has not been revealed.

The way the explosion took place amidst the crowd has raised questions on the security arrangements.
