Which five films are releasing in theatres in the first week of July?
Minions & Monsters
Minions & Monsters is an American animated comedy film directed by Pierre Coffin, who co-wrote the film with Brian Lynch. It is the third film in the "Minions" prequel series and the seventh in the "Despicable Me" franchise. Director Coffin voices the Minions, alongside Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Joey Deutsch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.
The plot is set in 1920, 48 years before the events of "Minions" (2015). It follows the Minions as they attempt to make their own monster film in Old Hollywood. The mischievous yellow Minions stumble upon a 1920s Hollywood film set and become silent film stars overnight. "Minions and Monsters" will release in theaters on July 2. The film will also be released in a Hindi dubbed version.
Alpha
Alpha is the seventh film in the YRF Spy Universe, which began with Salman Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger." This is the first time this universe has featured female spy characters in lead roles. The film tells the story of an operative trained to kill. Sita (Alia Bhatt), a female hitman, sets out to dismantle the illegal army program of her corrupt "stepfather" and ruthless mastermind (Bobby Deol). Along the way, she encounters another operative (Sharvari). The film is directed by Shiv Rawail, his first feature film. The story is written by Uday Chopra, with Saumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan, and Ishita Moitra writing the screenplay.
"Alpha" stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. Hrithik Roshan, who was also cast in "War," also has a cameo. 'Alpha' is releasing in theatres on July 3, 2026.
Baby Do Die Do
Baby Do Die Do is an action-crime thriller film. The story centers on Baby Karmarkar, a woman who is deaf and speechless. By day, she works a simple job at an NGO, while by night, she's a contract killer. She leads a double life as a dangerous hitwoman in Mumbai. The story takes a turn when a contract job goes wrong. Baby struggles to save her life. Past traumas, dangerous betrayals, and shadows of the past come back to haunt her.
The film is directed by Nachiket Samant. Baby's dangerous life also has a psychological aspect. She hears the voice of her deceased sister. She claims she hears it during every mission. Now, she must fight to save her life, expose corruption, and escape the deceitful world of the Mumbai underworld. "Baby Do Die Do" will release in theaters on July 3, 2026. This is a film from the new production company of Huma Qureshi and her brother Saqib Saleem.
Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure
Nagabandham: The Secret Treasure is a mythological action-adventure film. Originally made in Telugu, the film will also be released in a Hindi dubbed version on July 3, 2026. The story revolves around a valiant warrior tasked with protecting an ancient and closely guarded secret hidden in a Himalayan temple. The temple houses a powerful and divine power linked to the Hindu trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahadev), protected by a mysterious magical bond called the Nagabandham.
The story centers on a greedy enemy who seeks to exploit this sacred temple, its immense spiritual energy, and hidden treasure. Writer-director Abhishek Nama's film blends both mythology and history. It is loosely inspired by the Afghan invasions led by Ahmad Shah Abdali, depicting a fierce struggle between the defenders of an ancient culture and the foreign invaders. The film stars Virat Karna, Nabha Natesh, and Aishwarya Menon in lead roles. The supporting cast also includes Jagapathi Babu, Mahesh Manjrekar, Murali Sharma and Garuda Ram.
The Death of Robin Hood
The Death of Robin Hood is an American thriller film starring Hugh Jackman as Robin Hood. It is a dark adaptation of the 17th-century saga "Robin Hood's Death." Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the film also stars Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe. The story follows an elderly Robin, haunted by past murders committed as a fugitive from the law, living in self-imposed exile. Injured, Robin seeks refuge in a monastery, where he befriends the prioress and an orphan girl.
The film subverts the traditional, benevolent folklore of Robin Hood and portrays him as a jaded, ruthless killer. At the priory, run by Sister Brigid, Robin lives under the name "Randolph" and hides his true identity. He reluctantly becomes the caretaker of Little John's orphaned daughter, Margaret. "The Death of Robin Hood" is also releasing in theaters on July 3, 2026. However, it is only available in the English version.
