Aishwarya Rai Cannes: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan again stunned everyone at the Cannes Film Festival 2025 with her desi look. She wore a black evening gown, but this time with a silver Banarasi cape, which had a Sanskrit shloka from the Bhagavad Gita written on it.

Aishwarya Rai Cannes: At the Cannes Film Festival 2025, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan again won everyone's heart with her style. Though she did wear sindoor and saree during the first look and did show Indian culture with pride on the international platform, her new character now has more depth and an outlook on Indian origins. She wore a black gown and a silver Banarasi cape this time with a verse from the Bhagavad Gita written on it in Sanskrit.
This unique appearance was as unique in terms of fashion as it was a stunning reflection of India's cultural heritage and spirituality. Aishwarya Rai yet again demonstrated that besides being the glam queen of Bollywood, she is also India's cultural ambassador.
Indian pride in Banarasi Cape and Sanskrit verse
Created by Gaurav Gupta, the ensemble was a black corset gown with silver starry finish on it. However, what sets this look apart is the Banarasi silver cape, which has been hand-woven in Varanasi. A Sanskrit quote of the Bhagavad Gita has been engraved on this cap.Designer Gaurav Gupta posted the details of the dress on Instagram and mentioned that the cape has been entirely designed by Varanasi artisans. He even posted a photo of this unusual verse with India Today exclusively.
Hidden spirituality in cosmic design
The ornaments of the gown have been designed specifically to portray the abstract meaning of the universe. Created in silver, gold, charcoal and black shades, the embroidery wonderfully reflects light and dimensions by means of micro-glass crystals.
Plain jewellery and beach hair add glamour
Discussing jewelry, Aishwarya kept her attire simple except for a long necklace. She had multiple rings, including her favorite inverted V wedding ring. She also accessorized her attire by sporting large statement earrings. This time around, she styled her hair in beachy side parted waves, unlike her normally middle parted hair.
Aishwarya still believes in Gaurav Gupta
This is the second time that Aishwarya has selected Gaurav Gupta's look on the Cannes red carpet. Even in 2022, she appeared in a lavender-colored sculpted gown created by her, which was very trending.
From Sindoor to Shloka: Looks Dedicated to India
Aishwarya's first Cannes 2025 outfit generated buzz with the vermilion mark on her forehead, which symbolized India's oneness against terrorism. Her new look is a representation of her origin, her pride and culture towards her nation.
