Actor Salman Khan has issued a legal notice via DSK Legal to the makers of the upcoming film Kala Hiran, demanding an immediate halt to its production and promotion for utilizing his name, identity, and the 1998 blackbuck poaching case without permission.

New Delhi: According to reports, Salman Khan sent a legal notice to the movie makers.
He demanded to stop the production and promotion of the proposed upcoming movie 'Kala Hiran'. Legal notice was sent by a law firm DSK Legal, on behalf of Salman Khan. It was sent to casting director of the movie, Akshay Pandey.

What is the links to Salman Khan?

According to reports, This movie is allegedly inspired by the Blackbuck poching case related to Salman Khan. His legal team claimed that the image of Salman can be hampered. Legal process may get affected and his personal life can get contrived.

Legal team also said that we didn't given any kind of permission to use the name, identity and any to show circumstances related to him.

The teasure and first look wil be release on 20 June. In the film, conflicts between Salman Khan and Larence Bishnoi will be there. However this had not confirmed yet that the who will be leading it.

According to producer Amit Jani, the film 'Kala Hiran' is a crime thriller based on Salman Khan's 1998 blackbuck poaching case, courtroom drama, and his rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi. The movie has been shot across various locations in Uttar Pradesh, including Sambhal and Moradabad.

The blackbuck poaching case involving Salman Khan came to light in 1998 while he was shooting for the film 'Hum Saath-Saath Hain' in Jodhpur. A total of four cases were registered against him, which included two chinkara poaching cases, one Kankani blackbuck poaching case, and one Arms Act case.

Why this case had been emerged?

Under an instance where he was accused of illegally hunting two protected blackbucks in Rajasthan in 1998.

Who else charged under blackbuck poching case?

Following a complaint by the Bishnoi community in the blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan was first arrested in connection with these cases on October 12, 1998. Though charges were also filed against Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre, and Neelam alongside Salman. Saman Khan later granted bail.

In April 2006, Salman was convicted in the chinkara poaching cases, but he was acquitted in the Arms Act case in January 2017. Later, on April 5, 2018, he was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of ₹10,000 in the blackbuck poaching case, while the other co-actors were acquitted.

What is current situation?

The matter is currently pending before the Rajasthan High Court and he got the bail. Following a hearing in May 2026, the court has scheduled the next hearing for July 13, 2026. Salman Khan is currently out on bail.
